NSHTÖU Cable is to be used in dry and humid locations as well as in the open-air for frequent reeling processes and when the cable is exposed to heavy tensile and torsion load as well as to forced bending as in the case of cable carriages, line chains, drums or other mechanical equipment. NSHTÖU Cable Construction:

1 ..... fine-stranded tinned copper
2 ..... core insulation of rubber compound (EPR)
3 ..... inner sheath of rubber ( 5GM2) with open plaiting out of plastic
threads to protect the cable from torsion
4 ..... outer sheath of polychloroprene (5GM2), black,oil resistant and flame retardant

NSHTÖU Cable REELING SPEEDS

The NSHTÖU cable portfolio is defined by the cable reeling speeds, determining which specification is most appropriate for your high-speed crane reeling operations.

Our NSHTÖU-O and (N)SHTÖU-O cables (without earth conductor) and the NSHTÖU-J and (N)SHTÖU-J cables (without green/yellow earth conductor) offer resistance against oils and UV light. Additional resistance to the operational stresses is provided by an anti-torsion polyester braid.

There are additional variants for vertical reeling applications - NSHTÖU-V - and for applications including Electrified Rubber Tyred Gantry cranes (ERTGs) which require a low voltage reeling cable with integrated fibre optics, NSHTÖU-FO, available with 6,12,18 or 24 fibres.

NSHTÖU and (N)SHTÖU cables are suitable for outdoor installations and in dry, moist or wet rooms. They have an operating temperature range of -25oC to +60oC when flexed and -40oC to +60oC when fixed.

The standard NSHTÖU cables, including the PUR-sheathed cable, are available with 4, 5, 7, 12, 18, 24, 30, 42 or 45 cores. The choice of rubber or PUR sheathing will depend on the individual application and installation environment. The NSHTOU-FO cable is a 3+2 core cable, with the fibres laid up around a central support element.
